Supporting women and children against domestic violence
A BBC news story reports on the first UK conviction for domestic abuse after the perpetrator was sprayed with SmartWater. This is a forensic liquid currently being trialled by several police forces.

On 10th May the Buckinghamshire Swan Envoy Scheme was launched. Aylesbury Women’s Aid’s CEO April Benson is one of the first 12 Swan Envoys, along with Jane Campbell, Andy Collins, Keyaan Hameed, Karen Irons, Lorraine Kelly CBE, Sir David Lidington, Martin McElhatton OBE, Pauline Quirk, Alice Rose, John Shaw and Angela Spang.
Our CEO April Benson said, “I am very honoured to have been invited to become a Buckinghamshire Swan Envoy. As both a lifetime resident and worker in the county I am proud to promote Buckinghamshire as a fantastic place to live, work and do business.”

We are likely to come across people who are in slavery without even realising it. Signs can include someone appearing to be frightened and withdrawn, and reluctant to talk to strangers or people in authority.
