Medium and High-Risk Referrals
We accept medium and high-risk referrals from professionals, accompanied by a risk assessment demonstrating the risk level, for women affected by domestic abuse. They must have consented and be living in the Aylesbury Vale area; please check our map if you are not sure.
Please complete the referral form below, which can be found below, and return it to us securely or password protected via enquiries@awaid.org.uk.

Standard Risk (Outreach Support)
Due to changes in our commissioned service, please note that we now offer targeted support for standard risk women to meet specific needs. Women can contact us directly on 01296 437777 to access advice and support. This includes:
- Group programmes (Freedom Programme, You and Me, Mum and the Power to Change)
- Safety planning
- Weekly drop in sessions for advice and emotional support
- Access to benefits, housing and legal advice where appropriate.
Women and professionals can complete our group programmes referral form to make a referral to the Freedom Programme, You and Me, Mum or Power to Change.
Counselling
Referrals are on a self-referral basis only. Women can use the contact details on our Counselling webpage. If you are a Professional, please ask your client to contact our Counsellor, or you are welcome to get in touch to find out more about the service and if it is right for your client.

MYTH
She can leave
anytime
Planning or making the exit from an abusive relationship can be the most dangerous. Many women are quite rightly scared to make that final step. Also, a woman may feel ashamed about what has happened or feel it’s her fault, or she may be worried about the future – what will she do for money or a home, how will the kids cope at a new school.
She may even be physically prevented from leaving her home. Sadly, many women do not feel they have the support from family, friends and employers that gives them the courage to leave.
Aylesbury Women’s Aid can give you the support and information needed if you want to leave.
